Open Campus

Open Campus is a decentralized platform that aims to tackle the key challenges facing the education sector today. At its core, it is an ecosystem that connects learners, educators, content creators and educational institutions, enabling new ways of collaboration and value creation with blockchain technology (EDU Chain).

The EDU token is the governance token for the Open Campus DAO and is also the native gas token of the EDU Chain. This fungible token is designed to support the growth of the Open Campus ecosystem by providing incentives that align with the platform’s goals.

Open Campus is driven by a community of partners committed to leveraging transparency and composability. They aspire to recognize educators’ contributions adequately, equip students with verifiable credentials that open new doors, and enable institutions to distribute and monetize their services more effectively. The list of founders include Alex G., Jack Chorowsky, Yogev Shelly, Jay Varkey, Yat Siu, and Oren Elbaz.

The EDU token genesis occurred on BNB Chain as a BEP-20 token on 28 April 2023.

The platform utilizes Publisher NFTs and Genesis NFTs, which are integral components in the authentication and ownership of educational materials. These NFTs serve as a unique and immutable record on the blockchain, ensuring that content creators can securely publish and distribute their work without the risk of unauthorized duplication or fraud.
